Selling to Women

Selling to Women

When it comes to selling timeshare, as with sales in general, you need to cater your pitch to your target audience, and selling to women is certainly no exception.  Your approach when selling to a woman may need to be different than the one you might use when selling to a single man or a family, and it all comes down to how you market and advertise your product.  When you consider the woman’s perspective, you will have far greater success than if you are just selling with a one-size-fits-all universal sales pitch.

Here are some helpful tips to use when you are selling timeshare to women, which are not intended to generalize about all women but rather to give you another perspective on sales according to female psychology. Ultimately, the best sales person is the one that focuses on the individual in front of them, not matter what gender or sexual orientation.

Consider the Female Perspective

When you are gearing up to sell timeshare to a woman, the first thing you need to do is think about her perspective.  Is she a single woman or someone with a family?  What does your timeshare have that would be appealing to her?  Single women will be less interested in family-related things such as kid’s clubs or child care options than a woman who is a parent.  Knowing that those things are available may still be of interest to a single woman, but should not be the main selling point of your pitch.  Features that may stand out to a single woman include spa facilities and services, dining options, shopping, the fitness center, the pool or the beach.  Focus on playing these up and read her body language and verbal cues as to what interests her most.  Another key point to highlight is the exchange options your timeshare offers, so that she understands she has plenty of options that will make her travel dreams come true at an affordable cost.

Visual Presentation is Important

Another key aspect of successfully selling timeshare to women is how you present your information.  After you have zeroed in on the types of amenities she is specifically interested in, you need to find a clever way to present your pitch in a visual manner.  The more polished the overall package appears to be, the more attractive it will become, especially for women.  From the suites and amenities to the grounds and common areas, everything should be immaculate.  You should have a package that includes a variety of visual materials that you can reference as you make your sales pitch; this can be an extremely helpful tool as you create a personalized vision of her future vacations.

The Bottom Line Matters

While a sales pitch for women may focus more on the amenities they find appealing, practical matters are important too.  Women desire to see all of the financial information and data spelled out in simple to understand terms just as much as men do, if not more so.  It is common for many women to carefully assess the cost to benefits ratio of financial decisions, so the more complete information you can present to her about the costs will help her make an informed choice.  Feeling like she can trust you, especially regarding the financial end of things, will definitely help you win her over.
